Still Waters
Still Waters for Pastors, Church Leaders, and Christian Counselors; a place for Christian helping professionals to be refreshed and renewed.
True or False?
- Christians are always OK
- Christians never have trials or tribulations in their lives.
- Christians never need help from others; they just need to pray more.
- Christians are never depressed, anxious, or have addictions.
- Christians always have perfect relationships.
- A Christian’s faith is always enough.
All answers are FALSE!
Christians often put on a brave face to the church and the world trying desperately to hide their depression, anxiety, addictions, or spiritual crises. Christians often keep their relationship problems with family and at work secret. They are often afraid that they are somehow failing in their faith if things are not perfect.
Church pastors, leaders, and staff are especially vulnerable to such notions that they always have to be OK; that nothing should bother or upset them; and their faith should be enough. Active SELF-CARE is essential to maintaining your ability to help others.
Please don’t neglect yourself.
You are so valuable to the many people you serve. Let us care for you today!
