Shanta is the Founder/Director of New Image Youth Center in Orlando, FL. New Image Youth Center’s mission is to help inner city youth obtain a “New Image” through positive and motivating learning experiences, character building, and the promotion of education and fun.At the age of 21, Shanta Stubbs founded the New Image Youth Center with only $1,500.00 and 8 children. Shanta now helps mentor over 50 children a day in the Parramore Community. “I teach the children to surround themselves with positive people, because then positive things will happen,” she said.
At just the age of 28 Shanta Barton-Stubbs has received her undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice from Columbia University and her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, from Webster University in October of 2009, where she graduated with a 3.97 GPA, and was honored as the Student speaker.
Shanta has been the receiptant of many awards including the Bank of America Local hero award in 2007, the 2008 Magic Maker Award given by the NBA’s Orlando Magic, and her most humble award, winning the national title Ms Corporate America 2009, from the Ms Corporate America Pageant.
