Maria holds a Master Degree in Marriage, Family and Child Counseling from University of Phoenix and Bachelor Degree in Social Work from University of Puerto Rico. She completed the Child Welfare Professional Service Training. Maria is an associate member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). Her research has focused in the impact of divorce on children’s behavior and academic achievement. She developed her interest in Marriage and Family Therapy while she worked as Elementary and High School Social Worker. Maria has experience working with individual, family and couple’s therapy. She enjoys working with couples and adolescents. Maria believes the every person can find a place adapted in the society and obtain its well-being upon the socioeconomic and cultural forces. Her belief is that every person can manage their conflicts and problems but sometimes needs someone who guides them to focus on their strengths and abilities to identify a clear path toward a more satisfying life.
